Platform Architect
We're seeking a talented Platform Architect to join our growing team.
Do you excel in complex, regulated environments and have a passion for architecting secure, high-performance platforms that drive business success?
About Protas
Protas is an independent not-for-profit organisation, designing and delivering large, global randomized clinical trials of treatments for common and other life-threatening diseases. Protas is led by the epidemiologist and physician, Professor Sir Martin Landray, who has over 20 years’ experience of leading large, randomized clinical trials as part of a team at Oxford University’s Nuffield Department of Population Health. Most recently, he has been co-leading the landmark RECOVERY clinical trial into treatments for COVID-19 which identified that treatment with the inexpensive steroid drug dexamethasone improved the chances of survival for the most severe cases. It’s an incredibly rewarding place to work where you’ll be surrounded by supportive colleagues who are experts in their own fields of excellence. It’s an exciting time to start with us.
About the Role
As Platform Architect at Protas, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the architectural roadmap to ensure Cantata, our clinical trials platform meets current and future business needs to include focusing on scalability, security, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, you will provide architectural oversight for all aspects of the platform, including system integration and security, ensuring adherence to Salesforce architecture principles. You'll create lean and fit-for-purpose architectural documentation to guide development, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide a blueprint for continuous enhancement. You will also partner with key stakeholders, including Product Owners, Clinical Operations, and Information Security, to ensure the architecture supports business requirements and compliance needs.
About You
You are a highly skilled Platform Architect with extensive experience in Salesforce architecture alongside deep knowledge of platform components such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Health Cloud, Experience Cloud, Apex, and Lightning. You have a proven history of leading architectural decisions for large-scale solutions, ensuring they align with business needs and long-term scalability with strong expertise in architecting integrations using Salesforce tools and other technologies, such as MuleSoft and REST/SOAP APIs, to support seamless data flows and process automation. You have a solid understanding of agile development environments, CI/CD, and the ability to architect solutions that support DevOps practices and continuous deployment, and you also have experience with regulatory compliance requirements, particularly within healthcare or clinical trials, and the ability to architect solutions that align with compliance standards. Finally, you have the proven ability to create and maintain clear and effective architecture documentation, ensuring it remains relevant, concise, and useful to both technical and business stakeholders.
